Strategic Framework

Background

Strategic planning has helped us develop a current mission, vision and goals to define the value of the association and our focus for the future. We reviewed external and internal issues that are likely to have an important impact on IASB's work over the next 3 to 5 years, along with critical themes of importance, all of which helped drive the strategic framework of our operational plan. This is a fluid initiative with actions that will evolve each year as we decide with members on priorities going forward.

IASB is the worldwide association of speaker agencies and bureaus, providing global leadership, expertise and standards of excellence for the speaker bureau industry since 1986
.

IASB's Four Pillars of Focus

Four areas of focus have been identified to help guide our goals and actions.

Pillar One: Tell the Story

Advocate for the value of working with IASB members
Guiding Principle: We want members to be proud of our profession
and have the language to share their value, along with ensuring those
in the meetings business understand our value. We want to reach out
to industry organizations and source opportunities to share key messages
about working with speakers bureaus.

Pillar Two: Provide Education

Develop essential resources and tools for members to
be successful.

Guiding Principle: We want members to access resources that assist with
effective, responsible and ever-improving speaker representation and
business operations
.

Pillar Three:  Build Community

Encourage local, national & global collaborative relationships
.
Guiding Principle: We want to promote collaborative relationships among
members and our stakeholders, and have an inclusive, engaged membership.

Pillar Four:  Promote Excellence
Represent the highest standards of excellence in association  and business operations with a focus on recommended practices and ethics.
Guiding Principle: We want a high functioning association and have membership
in IASB to ‘mean something’ both internally and externally and be able to turn to
the association for guidance.
