The Customer is Always Right – Until They’re Not

The drive to retain customers can be a tightrope walk. Providing excellent service is one thing – but what happens when deference to the customer goes too far? Being grateful for the business can lead to rolling over for the customers; attempting to accommodate every whim at the expense of the talent and your own long-term customer relationship. A firm but diplomatic approach can be used to retain control and still preserve the buyer relationship. This session will explore that process as the panel follows a hypothetical event with an hyper-busy and distracted event planner.

The Impact of American Presidential Politics

The eyes of the world are on Washington. Political convention has been upended by President Trump with business and world leaders uncertain what to make of it and how to plan.  Will globalization be upended? What’s the immigration policy?  Will health care collapse? Political uncertainty deeply impacts the audiences IASB members serve.  In this era - and on a global scale - it is impossible to divorce politics from the business climate.  Bob Woodward will provide an unbiased (and unvarnished) look at how Washington is working – and not working – and what to expect from an unpredictable president.
