IASB receives calls from speakers bureaus that are looking for information about the International Association of Speakers Bureaus (IASB) and how the organization will benefit their bureau. Q - Who is eligible to be a member of the International Association of Speakers Bureaus (IASB)?
A - Membership is open to speakers bureaus or agencies that book multiple speakers (4 or more) and have 75% of their gross revenue coming from booking speakers.

Q - Is IASB the same organization as IGAB?
A - The International Group of Agencies and Bureaus (IGAB) was founded in 1986. In 2000 the organization change it's name to the International Association of Speakers Bureaus (IASB). The new name is more descriptive of what the organization is and what its members do.

Q - As a speakers agency or bureau why should I be a member of IASB?
A - IASB is the only trade association that exclusively represents speakers bureaus and agencies. In addition to building relationships with other member bureaus, your bureau will have the benefit of:

  • Accessing the Exclusive Speakers Directory.
  • Attending the annual convention at the member registration fee.
  • Having your bureau listed in the "Bureau Locator" on the IASB website.
  • Attending all NSA conferences and workshops at a special reduced registration fee.

Q - Does IASB guarantee new business for its member bureaus?
A - When ever a meeting professional contacts IASB and requests assistance in locating a speaker they are referred to the "Bureau Locator" on the IASB website. Whenever possible, IASB encourages meeting professionals to seek out member bureaus when searching for speakers.

Q - I am considering becoming a bureau owner. How do I get started in building a speakers bureau?
A - By going to the "Bureau Resources" page on the IASB website you will find materials that you may purchase from IASB. These will assist you in setting up and operating a speakers bureau.

Q - How do I go about joining IASB?
A - You may contact the IASB office by calling 317-328-7790 and request a membership application along with other membership materials. Q - What countries are represented by members of IASB?

A - In addition to the United States, member bureaus may be found in Australia, Canada, Colombia, England, Germany, Mexico, The Netherlands, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Singapore, Brazil, France, Portugal and New Zealand.
